Experience summer in this historic house situated directly on the crystal clear waters of Lake George, NY. Ponemah, located on Lake George’s Green Island, is just steps from the small summer resort town of Bolton Landing and the Sagamore Resort. Ponemah is one of the last surviving estates of Lake George’s historic “Millionare’s Row.” This 9-bedroom, 7-bathroom home was built in 1905 for one of the three original investors of the Sagamore Hotel. The Adirondacks are considered to be the birthplace of the American vacation, and Lake George remains the crowned Queen of American lakes. Ponemah stands proudly as one of the last surviving legacies of its time period.

- Nighttime on Ponemah’s dock is a magical experience- have a cocktail under twinkle lights, watch an outdoor movie on a vintage silver screen, stargaze from the plush loungers, catch a Sagamore fireworks show.
- Ponemah has one of the largest docks and boathouses on Lake George. There is plenty of room to swim and play- dive into the lake from our diving board and swim to the nostalgic floating dock.
- The restaurants of the Sagamore Resort are only steps away. Its award-winning, Donald Ross-designed golf course is a 5-minute drive and open to the public.
- From Ponemah, it’s just a 5-minute scenic walk to Bolton Landing for a breakfast sandwich, a nice meal out, shopping, to enjoy one of its parks or beaches, or the farmer’s market. You will not need to use your car all week!

Ponemah is surrounded by expansive outdoor spaces, which include gracious stone steps and gardens, large front and back lawns for playing games, a boathouse, a floating wooden dock, a lake view fire pit surrounded by majestic pines, and the modern luxury of a secluded spa tucked into a private spot on the waterfront.
Our waters
In 2025 Lake George was, once again, named as the clearest, cleanest lake in America- travel and leisure magazine. It is a lake surrounded by old growth protected forest, fed by mountain streams and hugged by the Adirondack mountains themselves. Ponemah’s water is crystal clear all the way from the sandy shallow end near the shore to the deep end of the dock.

Ponemah features a sprawling wrap-around screened porch with panoramic lake views, three full floors, spacious bedrooms, sleeping porches, a quaint cottage kitchen and butler’s pantry, working fireplaces and a roomy, comfortable living area, library and dining room.

Ponemah’s suites and bedrooms combine the feel of a nostalgic lake cottage with the comfort of plush mattresses, luxurious sheeting and cool central air conditioning. Each room has a beautiful view. Robes and slippers included with stay.

Bembridge Room, sleeps 4. Featuring queen bed, and twin day bed with pop up twin trundle. Large windows with views of pines and grounds. Roku TV. Full ensuite bathroom with antique fixtures, original to the house.

Sweetpea Suite: sleeps 4. Featuring a king bed and a sitting area with a sofa that pulls out to a queen sofa bed. Views of the lake peeking through ancient Adirondack pines. Roku TV. Full ensuite bathroom with antique fixtures, original to the house.
Bramble Suite: sleeps 4. Sprawling master suite with fireplace, sitting area, and attached sleeping porch featuring furniture and panoramic lake views. King bed and queen pull-out sofa bed. Roku TV. Full ensuite bathroom with antique fixtures, original to the house.
Cottage Sprig Suite: sleeps 4. Featuring a queen bed, a sofa, and a seating area, an attached sleeping porch with two twin beds. Sweeping sunset views of the lake and the property. Roku TV. Full ensuite bathroom with antique clawfoot tub with shower, original to the house.
Morning Glory Room: Sleeps 2. Petite cottage room with Queen bed. Roku TV. Ensuite petite antique 1/2 bathroom.
